My husband Charles and I met Mr. Waters through my sister, Rebecca Ball. We visited his home on a visit to Savannah. He was sharp as a tack and was very curious about my husband and how he was able to manage with his degenerative eye disease, Retinitis Pigmentosa. Mr. Waters took us on a tour of his home, introduced us to his beloved Jessie & Jonah and showed off his amazing scooter. He was so happy that he had the ability to get around. He also shared the story of his career with the railroad. I know he left an impact on all the lives he touched and he will be greatly missed.
